The British are Coming!

Since all the Americans back in the US are celebrating the 4th of July today Andrew and I decided it was time again for our annual 4th of July party. And since we just got engaged and were told we needed to have an engagement party we decided to combine the two together.

Saturday was a beautiful and sunny day, nice and warm while the sun was up but since it is winter it turned cold very quickly once the sun set. We have everyone around for snacks before lighting up the bbq to feast on American fare of sliders, sausages and chili dogs (a big hit made by Andrew's friend Bobby).

Since it was an engagement party as well Paul and Judy got us a beautiful cake to help us celebrate. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and I'm still exhausted from planning, hosting and cleaning, take a look at how it all went.

Cake!

We had a nice red, white and blue set up going on

We were surprised with the arrival of Simon and Bec's (on the left), Andrew's best friend who lives 5-6 hours away. The made the drive down to come and celebrate our engagement with us

Andrew and I had to cut the cake together we were told

I just couldn't help pulling a face, there were so many pictures, but I promised Andrew I wouldn't do it at our wedding...but I probably will

Bec's son Justin loved my American sunglasses and kept wanting his picture taken in them

The 4th of July party seems to get bigger and better every year so stay tuned to see how next year's turns out.
